The Barn Owl is a widespread species found across the globe, with about 46 different subspecies. The Galapagos barn owl is the smallest among them. Its distinct facial structure, resembling a satellite dish, allows it to direct sounds to its ears with precision. By flying low, it effectively hunts mammals and reptiles. Interestingly, in this species, the female has more striking plumage than the male. Barn owls typically lay between 3 to 6 eggs and have a lifespan of around 2 years.
