The Galapagos Searobin is a fish species unique to the Galapagos Islands. It is typically found on sandy, rubble-strewn seabeds near rocky reefs, at depths ranging from 20 to 30 meters. This fish is distinguished by its greyish-brown upper body, a white underside, and a line of orange spots where the two colors meet. A prominent triangular red-brown marking is visible beneath the eye, while the throat displays an orange hue. Its first dorsal fin is dark over the outer three-quarters, pectoral fins are black or grey with rows of dark spots edged in blue-white, and the tail fin features dark blotches forming bars with a white edge. The species can grow up to 30 cm in length.
